The Cape We Shape

We Depend on the Cape.
It Depends on Us.
Join Team SOS to Protect What Remains
Nearly 60,000 acres of unprotected priority natural resource lands are under intense development pressure, yet they are essential for clean water, open space, coastal resilience, and critical habitats. There’s still time to protect what remains and what we love about Cape Cod because it’s more than a destination, it’s part of who we are.
That’s why we’re raising the SOS flag—to call on our community to champion permanent land protection across the Cape.
‘SOS’ is designated as the worldwide standard distress signal: ’··· — ···’ in Morse code. The reality of life on Cape Cod merits the urgency. The Cape We Shape’s Team SOS is needed to respond to the emergency we’re facing.

By protecting our priority natural resource lands, we also safeguard clean water, species at risk, and the natural beauty that sustains our economy and makes life on the Cape possible.
Join Team SOS, a collective of people who love the Cape and are committed to shaping its future before it's gone forever.
By advocating, volunteering, and showing up—both online and in the community—we can secure permanent protection of the land, so the Cape's people, critical habitats, and natural character thrive now and for generations to come.
